Prior to the ordinary general assembly of the Club EMAS, which was held on 26 June 2008 at the Alimara Hotel in Barcelona, a conference was held to bring EMAS organisations up to date. This conference was the first in a series of annual meetings aimed at helping publicise and keep EMAS companies updated with regard to the latest new features in legislation and other topics of interest.
Topics were dealt with like the draft project to review the new EMAS regulations, the bill for environmental prevention and contamination of businesses (PACA) while, in parallel, attendees were presented with two studies done by the Club EMAS about the environmental results of EMAS companies and how having an environmental management system can affect the risk value of companies.
