The Club EMAS has participated for the first time to the International Tourism Exhibition of Catalonia (SITC) from April 15th to April 18th 2010 in Barcelona.
The participation to the SITC 2010 was the result of a collaboration betwen the Club EMAS and the catalan Department of Environment  and Housing as a promotional activity for  2010. The participation with the stand "Sustainable Tourism"  under the "Catalan Tourism" section has been possible also thanks to the collaboration of the catalan Tourism Agency.
The Club EMAS has dedicated these 4 days to the promotion of EMAS, the catalan  ecolabel and the European Ecolabel. Special promotion materials have been created and information about EMAS registered torurism activities has been distributed among the visitors. A customized pencil on sustainable tourism has been distributed.
One of the main activities carried out has been a survey among the visitors in relation to their level of knowledge  and recognition  on the EMAS logo, the Ecolabel logo and the catalan ecolabel logo. More than 700 surveys have been carried out. The information obtained will help the Club to identify better tools and ways to promote EMAS.
